Why did Mack and Volvo select Washington, D.C., as the site for UPTIME 2009?
Welcome to Uptime » FAQs » Why did Mack and Volvo select Washington, D.C., as the site for UPTIME 2009?
There are several factors to be considered when selecting a location for an event of this size and scope.
- Venue – To maximize attendance at the trade fair and in the training events, as well as opportunities for networking, it is optimal to select a facility with an exhibit hall; space for parts, service and body shop training; and enough hotel rooms for 1,400+ attendees under one roof. The Gaylord facilities – with locations in Orlando, Fla.; Dallas, Texas; Nashville, Tenn.; and now Washington, D.C. – meet the
above criteria. - Destination – Your time is valuable, so it's important to us to select a location that is near a major airport(s). While we try to vary the geographic locations, we must also consider travel time and select destination cities that are easily accessible to the majority of attendees.
- Room Rates – There are a limited number of facilities throughout North America that meet the venue and destination criteria above. Therefore, it's important to us to select one with the lowest hotel room rate possible.
